Insulation

Aquatherm piping systems have a natural level of heat and sound insulation, adding value to the building they are installed in.

An ideal piping systems helps the medium it carries reach it's destination in the same condition it started out in. Aquatherm piping systems help achieve this because they have a natural insulation value, reducing heat-loss in hot water pipe and heat-gain in cold water pipes. This insulation value can reduce the effective need to install additional insulation and reduces the chance of pipe condensation if the vapor barrier is accidentally broken.

Polypropylene also has sound absorption properties, allowing the Aquatherm piping systems to run flow-speeds as fast as 8 ft/s while only generating less noise than a metal system running at half that speed (4 ft/s). Aquatherm pipe also won't carry noise from pumps and other mechanical equipment to other parts of the building.

These added benefits allow the engineer greater flexibility in designing piping systems.
